Personal Safety Training Inc.’s Defensive Tactics System™ (DTS™) is a self-defense and control-restraint based training program designed for individuals involved in: Security, Law Enforcement, Military Operations, Correctional Facilities, and Protective Services Agencies.. The focus of this system is to teach individuals how to defend themselves and control-restrain subjects who are unarmed and out of control.We offer two types of DTS™ courses:
Our basic course is a 1-day course provided to your staff and includes the manual and certificate.
Our instructor course provides a “teach-the-trainer” approach, allowing you to train your security instructors with the ability to provide ongoing training to the rest of your staff at your convenience. This is a 2-day course and includes the course manual, CDs, and certificate.
Some additional information you may need to know…
- In additional to course fees, the only other costs for on-site training are the expenses of having our instructor-trainer come to you: flight, hotel, rental car, food costs and parking costs.
- You will need a large training room (carpeted if curriculum involves hands-on training), an LCD projector and refreshments for participants (coffee, water etc…)
- We are a net 30 receivable company. You can book a course online by paying a deposit and we can invoice you for the remaining amount which you can pay by check, credit card, or purchase order.

DTS™ Instructor Training

- 2-Day (16-hr)
- Minimum of 6 required
- Valid for 3 years
- Includes Instructor Course manual, CDs, and certificate
- Entitles you to train, certify, and re-certify others in the course
- Issuance of basic course manuals and basic course certificates for purchase (by certified instructors only)
- Supplemental mailings to notify instructors of updates in training methods, training aids, training seminars and other related courses
- Training Includes:
- Interactive lecture/discussion
- Demonstration
- Skills performance of techniques
- Multiple repetition practice
- Written & skills testing
