Side Handle Baton Training

The training curriculum for the side handle baton is called the Monadnock PR-24 Control Baton Certification Program. With these programs officers, instructors and agencies can choose between the PR-24 Pre-Basic Certification Course (6hrs), PR-24 Basic Certification course (8hrs) or the PR-24 Instructor Certification Course (16hrs).

Each course combines lecture, discussion, demonstration, hands-on performance of techniques and testing in a concise and practical manner.

To receive certification a student must achieve an acceptable rating on each technique listed in the PR-24 courses proficiency test check sheet. The student must also pass a written test and pass the teaching assessment portion (Instructors only).

Personal Safety Training Inc. offers the PR-24® Pre Basic Course, Basic Course and PR-24 ® Instructor Course for qualified individuals and agencies. Individual and agencies that qualify are Law Enforcement, Military, Private Security, Corrections, and Federal Agencies.

PR-24® Certifications

• The PR-24 Baton® courses were developed by the Monadnock Police Training Council, Inc. The Council's certification procedures and standards are amply structured to meet the most sophisticated legal challenges.



• The PR-24 baton techniques can be quickly learned, perfected and performed under stress. The Council's certification is fully researched in terms of tactical, medical, and legal consequences resulting from police intervention.



• Tactical concepts focused on how, why, and when to use the PR-24 Police Baton in a variety of situations make this program the most effective, court defensible, and state-of-the-art SIDE-Handle BATON training program of its kind in the country.



• Instructor Certification entitles you to train, certify, and re-certify others in the PR-24® course.



• Instructor Certification is valid for four years.



• Pre Basic and Basic Course Certifications are valid for two years.



• The PR-24® instructor and Basic Certification programs can be held at our training facility or yours.



• Training fee includes manual and certificate.



• Issuance of instructor certificates upon initial certification and re-certification.



• Supplemental mailings to notify instructors of updates in training methods, training aids, training seminars and other related courses.
